Leisure Herd, Sullivan+Strumpf, Sydney, 8 – 31 May 2025.
Leisure Herd continues an ongoing exploration of artificial intelligence, image culture and post-human narratives through meticulously rendered scenes of farm animals at rest on icons of twentieth-century furniture design. Compositions initiated with machine learning systems trained on art history are resolved as oil paintings, placing livestock — sheep, cattle, hens and pigs — in the spaces of modernist luxury usually reserved for their owners.
